How are we gonna be n ONE ACCORD if we are too busy pointing fingers of blame and accusation??

This past week a person I think a lot of has been constantly harassed and berated on her personal blog. Now normally that would not offend me, I would just shrug it off , consider them a moron and move on. However, the attacks have come from individuals that are claiming they are Christians. Many of them have gone under the guise of anonymous, some have been bold enough to use their blognames, wither way it is a sad thing when people attack others using the guise of religion. See I don't care if … [Read more...]

How does one go from being a staunch advocate and voice for their cancer stricken child and in the blink of an eye become the one needing the strength from others. Matt … [Read more...]

My favorite movie character in the world…… MADEA

I love movies.. period.. but I hate movie theaters... so I am a DVD fanatic.. About 5 years ago I was introduced to a character by the name of Madea. Picture Big Mama with a whole lot more attitude. Tyler Perry raised in the church of Bishop Paul Morton in Louisiana knew that God had a purpose for his life. HE left home with only the money in his pocket and headed to New York to be a world famous playwright. He had Madea in his mind, wanted to make her honest and blunt with an edge of humor and … [Read more...]

Driving Miss Dolly ( Morgan Freeman I ain’t)

This is my mom who turned 71 this year.. Doesn't look it does she??  However in the last few years time has taken a nasty toll on her physically. She has had both hip replaced, needs knee surgery, has had 3 heart operations and has a tear in her retina and cataracts starting. With all of that let's toss diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea in the mix. My mom has aged beautifully considering the life she has lived and survived. I used to look at her and my memaw ( her mommy) and try … [Read more...]

It is too quiet here

The silence is deafening. I sit in an empty house with only the sound of Paula White on t.v. to quiet the ear shattering sounds of silence in my house. Funny how as mothers this is the day we look forward to eventually. Children grown respectable adults with fulfilling lives and careers and hopefully spouses, the ability to regain "our" ground and territory. We long for the day we can have only  enough clothes in the home laundry basket for 2 people, us and our spouse, no toys in odd … [Read more...]

Advice to the spouses and mates of sexual abuse survivors…

As a survivor of childhood sexal abuse I have learned a lot about recovery and taking back my rights as a woman in many areas. But today I am speaking to the men in the life of an abuse victim. Many who are either not aware their mate or spouse had been abused, or who do know and have no clue what they can do to help the survivor that she is to shine forth in all areas of life...Let me start by saying that we often have low self esteem. Our lives have been spent wiping away memories and feelings … [Read more...]
