Welcome to Frack you Friday, the day Dazee allows us the freedom to vent and be heard and face the weekend with a lighter mind and heart. If you have followed me this week you know I had a round with an incompetent doctor. His incompetence led my son to get worse from what should have been an easily fixed allergic reaction. In defense of the hospital they were not pleased when I called them and filed a formal complaint. They really were not thrilled when I sent them the pictures of exactly what his ‘treatment’ for the illness he did not have had done. I am pretty sure he won’t be pleased when he gets pulled in front of his peers for formal review and gets to eat my medical bills for that visit. He is lucky I am willing to be satisfied with that. Really lucky.
In my neck of the woods I refer to this as hell weekend. Why one might ask. Two words. Court Days. Let me explain. Back before there was the ease of travel we have today and the counties were spread out and neighbors were a mile up the road, rather than have court every day, like we do now, it occurred once a month. People centered their trips into town into these few days if they could to stock up on supplies and deal with all their business. In the days before there was a Speedway on every corner where one could hop in and buy a loaf of bread in a nanosecond. Because of the amount of people that would be present on those few days in town many vendors would set up booths, run specials, to cater to the increase in traffic, and of course make a little more money. Though those days are long gone our county and the county next to us reigned in the tradition into one weekend in October. Now while this doesn’t sound bad it is. Keep in mind that my county is small, itty bitty winding roads. Do they have the court days in the county seat where it is populated with better roads. No. That would be too simple. Instead a little suburb of our county began holding it. The county next to us, in 3 days manages to pretty much quadruple its population for a week. There are whole sections of the city blocked off there for vendors and people to wander aimlessly looking at items they don’t need at a price that is really too much. The vendors make mint there. The people who reside here year round dread those days. We try to get our shopping out of the way before it starts because in both areas traffic slows and stops in many places. The only thing I do love about Court Days is blooming onions. It is the one time of year I can get a decent one. But I rarely do because the cost is ridiculous and I am not fighting over 300000 people for a damn onion. I just am not doing that. They aren’t that amazing. My son used to love to go for the funnel cakes, until we got funnel cake mix for here.
This weekend is going to be filled with getting stuff cleaned out and clothing put away. Getting the stuff from mom’s over here. Moving out my stuff and selling it because I don’t have any room for it. Attempting to squash the piles of laundry that have arisen out of going through fall clothes.
So that is my fun how is yours this weekend??

It got down in to the 20′s here in Massachusetts last night, so I’m thinking of skipping right over the fall clothes for the winter ones. Brrrr.
