Recently while shopping with the spouse he complained that we were once again out of peanut butter. In this household that stuff is a precious commodity. We buy it in bulk, as in 7 lb containers. They all eat it, catch THEY. I am not a huge peanut butter alone fan. Peanut butter cookies; I am there, peanut butter fudge; a corner piece please. So imagine my surprise when traveling down the peanut butter aisle I see a small jar on the opposite side that looks like this:
Oh there were other flavors, although I cannot remember them right now. I was instantly in love with this one. Not only did you go after my heart with the words mocha cappuccino but the fact that it is a HAZELNUT spread. I had to see, my love of all things coffee forbade me from leaving the aisle without this in my cart. It was all I could do to get to the checkout line. I fought the urge to open it and dive into it. I was hoping I would not be disappointed. See the catch is I cannot stand the hazelnut creamer. I loathe it. But I do like hazel nut spread and hazel nuts themselves. Don’t ask I have no clue, I am just a weirdo. But this, this has become my guilty pleasure. I leave it sitting on the counter in the kitchen. Need a chocolate fix but don’t want the extra calories of a candy bar simply walk in and get a finger full of this wonderful substitute. Yes I said Finger Full. This is mine. I have very few things that I am not willing to share, this is one. This is my peaceful place in a hectic day. This is my fix when I don’t want a full cup of coffee but want the taste of it. This, this is my little piece of heaven in the kitchen. One day maybe I will share, but not today.. probably not next week either.
