1 am the phone rings. It is my oldest who just arrived in from work at his friends house to a text claiming the police had been to our neighbors house looking for him. The text came from someone who I believe only 1/100 th of what they say and only 1/4 of what I actually see them do. So he is in a panic, apparently they were asking about him and the friend he was staying with in reference to another person he had not seen in over a year. Calming him down I began making calls first thing this morning. Sheriff’s office knew nothing, dispatch knew nothing. Finally I was able to connect with the neighbor who said they gave our address, asked about someone and showed a picture, but the pic was not my son. Well great now it is even more confusing. But she did verify it was state and not county or city. So I contact state police who tell me to bring him up to dispatch if we need info they cannot tell me anything over the phone, HE has to come in. Great. Now I am fuming. Because the person it was supposedly in reference to is currently (supposedly) on life support from a massive drug overdose. This person also escaped from police custody a few weeks ago, again nothing my son had anything to do with or even knew about until the following week when he heard it at his job. So I picked him up and we went straight to state police headquarters, only to be told they have no clue what we are talking about. No one was looking for him, nor had they been there was absolutely nothing on him that they needed to see him about. We leave as confused as we were when we first got the information. We did finally find out who they were looking for, the person was not in trouble, and the original information given to the person who relayed it to Doug never mentioned that they were looking for Doug or the other person in question. So as I said HUGE drama because someone only knows how to cause it. She took one statement and blew it all out of proportion because that is what she likes to do. I loathe people like that.
But on the upside I have a job now. Caring for a woman in my sister’s apartments part time. Helping her with housework and taking showers. Stuff I love. I have always loved older people I love talking to them and hearing their stories. This will also give me a break from the monotony of being in the house every day all day.
So how was your Friday??? Better than mine I hope… geesh Louise..

Geez is right! Glad you got that all worked out!
That is such a crazy thing about the police looking (but not really looking) for your son. Totally crazy.
But I’m glad you have a job you like!
