Ahh the fun of taking pictures.. I have had a ball this summer and with fall coming up I am looking forward to more fire pit time. Although I tend to tease Dazee through text when I get there. Something about drinks and the fire and no neighbors.. but she loves me still bwhahahaha. So with the topic this week being heat I thought I would post some pics of my awesome home made fire pit that Gene dug out this spring. By the time it is completed we hope to have a spit over it so if we wanted to really cook something over it we can, and trust me we will. This weeks prompts from Mad Mind and Dazee are Heat and your choice..
I love the way the embers fly up when we add more wood. They look like mini fireworks..
Now on the anything goes this week let’s dip into the paranormal shall we???All 3 of my boys had abilities when they were smaller. It began with Doug who saw his Memaw Cory standing beside the road at the place where she was buried. Truth, he did not attend her visitation or funeral we felt he was too young, so he was not aware of the clothing she was buried in or where she was buried. He described her outfit completely and pointed to the cemetery fence as where she was standing and waving as we drove past. Doug also dreamt about an uncle of mine that had passed when I was 10. He had never seen him or even seen pictures of him, but described in detail to my mom all about him and told her to tell Aunt Billie * his wife, mom’s sister* to not cry at night he was still there. Mom contacted the sister and asked how she had been sleeping. The sister told her for the last week she had felt my uncle in bed behind her as he put his arm over her body. In excitement she would awaken only to find herself alone and she would cry because it felt so real, she could even feel his breath on her neck. Mom had her come over and let Doug tell her what had happened. There was no way for that child to know any of that period. Jesse saw another aunt after she had passed walking through mom’s house. He also told me one day that Memaw was falling and she wanted him to tell me. I had no clue what he meant and thought he meant mom, who was miles away in her own home. I called her and she was fine. I asked again and he pointed towards the living room where we had a picture of Cory, Gene’s mom, hanging above her old recliner. He had no sight of it when he pointed and no sight of it when he told me, but the back of the frame was sliding loose and her picture was literally sliding off the wall. He would often sit by her recliner and laugh and giggle at something he saw there. We got rid of the chair when Gene and I came in to find it rocking on it’s own one evening. No fan was on, no one had been home, no pets in the house, but the chair was rocking as if someone had just stepped out of it.
But Devin, he has a gift. One that he hasn’t outgrown. When he was 4 my stepfather passed away. My stepfather may have had his faults but when it came to my boys, there was nothing he would not do for them. Devin was no exception. After he passed away Devin was lost. He missed Papaw John something horrible and would often walk in his old room or find his old things and look at me asking for Papaw. It broke my heart. When Christmas came we went to church with mom, we did it every year. Even John , who normally would not be there, but if food was involved scooch over and make room. In the middle of the service Devin leapt from his seat and pointed to the door that led downstairs to the kitchen. Gene tried to calm him down but he kept pointing and loudly whispering , ‘PAPAW PAPAW look Daddy there he is. ” Of course we could not see him but he ran to the door and was gone down the stairs as quick as he could go. Needless to say once downstairs he could no longer find him, but I know that child saw him there as sure as I am sitting here typing this.
Devin has always seen or heard things or people. So I am no longer surprised when taking pictures of him that HE is never the only thing in the picture. Like these pictures we took walking around our property one night. In several there is one or two orbs, and in one or two there are several. The only outside light that was on was our security light and it was not in the picture and a flashlight. You can clearly see where the flashlight is so we know it was not causing it either. I used no flash as the whole point was to get pictures without the flash that can screw up a picture.. but you judge for yourself…In this one the bright spot to the left we have no clue what it is, the bigger thing is the ceramic angel figure in mom’s old flower bed. In every shot Devin was nearby.
So now that I have scared you from ever visiting, which I wish you would they are all friendly.. go join up with I spy
