Tuesday why must you be so mean to me? I spent the night wracked with abdominal cramps and coughing spells. Upright is not my forte’ today. So got the kids up for school and youngest complains his head is itchy and he can barely open his eye. Through my sleepy eyes * I got up at 4 am with the pain* I look and see the whole right eye and forehead are swelled and covered in whelps like one would have from an allergic reaction. The only thing he did yesterday was go to the neighbors and play on their trampoline. My middle son said there was poison oak and ivy around the trampoline. Wonderful. So Daddy comes back, because I obviously cannot drive and takes him to the ER. Doctor says he has impetigo. Umm yeah can I say doctor is an IDIOT. First of all impetigo starts with blisters and crusty scabs none of which he has. Impetigo does not pop up literally overnight, this did. Impetigo also usually arises when a person has a runny nose and is constantly wiping their noses with shirt sleeves and making raw places on their face. Those raw places latch onto the bacteria that comes from the runny nose and spreads under the nose and around the mouth. USUALLY. But I have NEVER seen it do this…
So we have 3 meds he is on, if you count Benadryl. I was already doing laundry getting fall clothes out and trying to clean house. Now I just have more to do. But the nurse and pharmacist both think it is poison oak or ivy. Which would be about our luck. Calgon take me away.. now preferably. Someone send me a new abdominal wall that isn’t so pissy cause of pulled muscles, and a tall bottle of strawberry daquiri or Long Island Tea. If I am gonna get sanitizer happy I don’t want to give a crap by the time I am done…

Aww sweetie. I’m so sorry.
Thomas got into some really bad poison ivy one year – he had it all over…and his face looked a lot like that. I hope it clears up quickly.
