As you all know I am working, and I love it. My body however is not so fond of it. I guess I didn’t realize how hard it is to go to standing on your feet nearly 8 hours a day from not standing on your feet 8 hours a day. The one thing I do love is I am constantly moving so it is not like I am stuck in one place. Monday they did an audit on my drawer. Everyone has them occasionally and I was not concerned. Until my drawer came up 105.21 short. I nearly hit the floor in heart failure. This is also the place I blew my lid. THIS is exactly why drawers should not be shared or bounced around on by everyone and their brother. I learned we can lock our drawers but a manager card can unlock it meaning the point is useless. I have worked in other places where there were codes to log in and out of a drawer when multiple people had to share. When you walked away you coded out and when someone else went to use it they punched in their code. That way every second the drawer was in use they knew who was on it. Fortunately, it was located when the night manager prepared the deposit. So my drawer was exactly right. Usually I am a penny or 2 over. I was so glad it was found, but I was livid that it was ever misplaced.
While catching up on my blog reading I read a post by Lee from Post Divorce Chronicles and Tracy concerning the comedian Daniel Tosh, famous for his show Tosh O. Apparently he had been performing in a comedy club and a female blogger was there with a friend. He made a joke about rape jokes being funny. She responded loudly that rape was never funny. A MAN would have apologized and taken his head out of his ass at the crudeness of attempting to make light of a serious crime. Instead he continued making her his attack person. Commenting that it would be funny if she was suddenly gang raped by 5 guys, how hilarious it would be. Tosh, I think it would be hilarious for you to have to live through the trauma rape brings to its victims. As a well known personality in the comedy industry, I understand that many of your popular bits are directed at NOT being politically correct . This is one issue however I would think it would be wise to air on the side of caution and tact. Rape is an act of violence on the part of the perpetrator. It is about control and abuse and taking something from their victim. The rape itself may last only minutes but it’s after effects can last a lifetime. Rape survivors can suffer for years, long after their attacker is even caught if they are ever caught. Unfortunately for many victims they aren’t. If they are too fearful to report the rape nothing comes of it. If they do report the odds of having a backlog of rape kits are astronomical. In some states the wait can be as long as 10 years, if they ever get tested at all. Leaving the victim helpless and trapped with not knowing peace because her attacker is still free, while she is trapped in the fear of it happening again. Tosh you disgust me and I hope this critical attention of your horrible behavior will make you rethink your position on those types of jokes. However, I am afraid that it won’t . Because for people like you any attention is money in your bank, making you , no better than a rapist. Your humor preys upon the misfortune and nightmares of others. I would never see you in any club or venue, nor would I watch a program of yours. What I can say though is when I told my sons about what you did their response was all the same. You needed to have your ass whipped. Because I have raised responsible, respectful bright young men, who are aware rape is NOT a JOKE. Something I am afraid was lacking in your juvenile training.
On the plus side I got my box from Influenster this week.. JACKPOT> I got an awesome new nail polish called Magnetic from Sally Hansen and I love it. I received many other items as well and will be doing a full post about all of my goodies later this week. Well it is late and I am whooped.. have a great night ya’ll.

Whew! I’m happy that the money was found. What a mess! Also happy that you are loving the new job.
Thank you for writing about this…and for raising responsible, respectful young men at your house. I love you, woman.
That magnetic nail polish sounds cool. I need a box of fun to arrive at my house.

oh my god. Can I hurt him with you. What the hell is wrong with people. I can also see you flipping a rod about your cash drawer. I probably would have been in tears.

I heard someone comparing a rape joke to a murder joke– but they are nowhere close. It’s not okay to joke about rape, unless its a joke about going to prison.

Honestly, I had not read about Tosh’s idiocy before this. I’d heard about it briefly but never bothered to read the story (don’t ask me why). Having read this though, it’s a damn shame what he did. Violence against women in the form of rape is very difficult and painful (emotionally and physically) to those who have suffered. There is nothing to joke about…period. I don’t care if you’re a comedian. There are some lines you just do not cross.
I personally have a bit of a twisted and juvenile sense of humor but that is not something I’d laugh at. I give major kudos to the woman who stood up to him.
Stopping by from SITS by the way.

It saddens me when I hear of things like this. It’s horrible that he feels this way, first off. But then to use the pulpit he has to promote it. He has influence. There are young people who will hear him and will think it’s okay. It’s not okay. Not ever. I’m glad she stood up to him and sorry he attacked her for it. Some days I wonder how our society keeps functioning.
Thanks for taking stand. It matters.
Stopping by from SITS. Have great weekend.

Guess what? I had no idea who Tosh was before his decision hit the news, and I still don’t really care.
I completely agree that what he did was inappropriate at least, and completely unprofessional and mean at worst. I cannot imagine poking fun about that.
