UBP2012 Come party with the blogosphere

Hey ya’ll welcome to my new digs. As is my personality I can never hold down fort in one place. I like to shake things up, keep em changing. I began blogging about 5 years ago, wow how long ago does that seem to me right now. A lot has happened in 5 years and those things have caused me to grow and learn and step out of comfort zones I spent years in.

The baby of 4 girls the last 4 years of my life I spent caring for our elderly mother who declined before we knew what was happening. What started as a simple fall resulted in broken hips, heart problems and memory issues. I wouldn’t trade the last 4 years in for anything in the world. It wasn’t always easy, but mom definitely made it memorable. The last year being the most. She fit a lot of living in that last year, losing weight, getting her groove back and reminding me of the youth of her life that I was not privy too. Her death shattered my world. I am not sure if I will ever get it all back together and I don’t think that is possible. When someone is that big a part of your core being their loss is life altering in a way you can never prepare for.

My blog became my place to vent, to rage, to be angry at the illnesses that slowly pulled her away. I have cried , laughed, and probably shared way more then some wanted to hear. As a child my thing was singing. It was my solace. I am a sexual abuse overcomer, mom, wife, friend and cheerleader. After her death I changed my blog name, moved to WordPress and never looked back. I have learned that we are constantly evolving and changing. I became the keeper of memories. The photo taker to hang onto the moments that we would never repeat. I have grown in my writing and in my photography finding that I can often combine the two.

3 boys fill my house along with a menagerie of animals. My oldest has bipolar which has proven to be an interesting ride in it’s own right. My middle son has dreams of being  doctor and a chef and traveling the world. My youngest is smart and loving, the giver of hugs and the one who will try to make you smile. When he is sad he hides to himself until it all breaks forth like a dam.

My husband and I have been married for 16 years and works hard every day for a national cabinet manufacturer. He is my rock. Without a doubt. We have been through hell and high water and he supports me 110 percent in anything I want to do. So feel free to peruse my pages. I do some adult giveaways and reviews so you have been warned. Once again welcome to my place and I hope you like it here and come back often. So hop on over to the Ultimate Blog Party and have some fun..

  3. Wow, I love how you are able to express yourself. I’m caring for my mom who at the age of 62 woke up one day unable to move from the waist down – turns out she has Devicks disease kin to MS. I find it hard to express what’s going on since I feel it’s not my story to tell it’s hers.

Thank you for coming over to my facebook and ‘liking’ me.

    • Sonia I understand completely why you would want your mom to tell her story. But in caring for her you have a story as well. No one caring for a loved one with a devastating illness walks away unscathed. I think if you would write about the affect it has had on you, your fears, your stresses you would find it to be a great help. Everyone needs a place to just vent.

  4. Nice to meet you through UBP! It does sound like you’ve been through a lot since you’ve started blogging. Isn’t it wonderful to have an outlet and opportunity for community like this? It can make all the difference.

  5. Thanks for stopping over at my blog :) My grandma broke her hip almost 15 years ago, and she was never ever the same after that…it was sad to see but we rejoice in all the fun memories now!
